Freelance Project Manager and Problem Solver | Board Member, Women's Infrastructure Network In 2012 set up my own Limited company to provide consultancy services as a freelancer (with some stints as permanent employee). In 2014 I founded an online Facebook group which today has over 19,000 members and since 2018 I am a Board Member of Women's Infrastructure Network (UK). I have also volunteered as a STEM Ambassador in primary schools. I am a self-motivated and results orientated all-rounder and continuous learner, strongly driven by solving problems, streamlining processes and delivering results. In short, I get stuff done. I was born and grew up in southern Sweden, but have called England home since 2003. I have a Masters of Science degree in surveying / civil engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University (LTH at LU). Profile - going freelance

In June 2012 I started looking into setting up my own consultancy focusing on four areas: Strategy (including business planning and analysis) Project management and delivery Bid management and messaging Writing - technical, policy, tender/bid, content After working my notice period and enjoining the London 2012 Olympics I started my first freelance assignment as a project manager in September the same year. After a few years of full time employment, I am back as a freelancer in 2018.

Finding your next job - do you focus on the company, the role, the location or something else?

Every year the Times , Guardian and Glassdoor to name a few, publish lists of 'the best companies' to work for. The top-rated companies celebrate and use the ranking in their marketing. But, in my view, this is flawed. We are all different, which means we will all be seeking different things when we are looking for our next job. Flashy central London offices with 24/7 catering, dealing with large sums of money, travelling the world, getting paid a high salary and even higher annual bonuses, may be important for some, at some stage(s) of their lives. For others, flexible working patterns, paternity leave, healthcare cover, pension contributions, and work stability may be more important, at some stage of their lives. Similarly, working locally or from home, may be the number one criteria for others.
